Ali Osumanu arrived at Stará Říše when his career already had more behind it than ahead, a Ghanaian forward.

The club itself dates to 1944, and its honours are modest and precisely dated: the I. A Třída Kraje Vysočina, group B, in 2008/09, then the regional championship, the Přebor Kraje Vysočina, in 2012/13, which sent Stará Říše up into the Divize D, the fourth tier. They stayed there eleven seasons, before dropping back down to the Přebor at the end of 2023/24. In the Czech Cup the furthest they reached was the second round, twice, in 2013/14 and 2016/17.
