Stjørdals-Blink

Two clubs from the same town settled the question of a shared identity in 1956, when Stjørdal IL and Idrettslaget Blink merged into one side.

The club's history has mostly played out in Norway's third and fourth tiers, punctuated by two spells at a higher level.

Nothing in that league record matches what happened in the 2023 Norwegian Cup. Blink went to Rosenborg, one of the country's most decorated clubs, in the quarter-final and won 2-1.

Fredrik Midtsjø started out at the club before moving on to Rosenborg and the Norwegian national team, one of the clearer threads connecting Stjørdal's amateur football to the top flight.

Blink now play their football in the 2. divisjon, back at the level they know best, with the 1. divisjon standing as the target above them.
