Stockerauer Sportverein 07 was formally constituted on 7 May 1907, though the club traces its line back further, through SV Heid Stockerau and ASV Stockerau. The one season that still gets mentioned belongs to 1990–91: Stockerau beat Rapid Wien 2–1 in the Austrian Cup final on 30 May 1991, with Peter Pospisil scoring the winner. It sent them into the European Cup Winners' Cup that autumn, where Tottenham Hotspur ended the run with two 1–0 wins. Marek Ostrowski, part of that cup-winning squad, stayed on through 1996.

Beyond that one final, the honours read as a regional club's ledger rather than a national one: the Lower Austria Cup in 1973, the Lower Austria Landesliga three times, most recently the 2. Landesliga in 2003.

Stadion Alte Au has shrunk with the club's level — 8,000 capacity once, 2,500 now. Stockerau play in black and red.

The 2024–25 season had them in the 1. Landesliga Niederösterreich, the fourth tier, closing the autumn half in eighth place.
