Stocksund

Ömur Pektas scored 24 goals in Division 2 Norra Svealand in 2022, top of the division, before Varbergs BoIS signed him. IFK Stocksund had no realistic hold on a striker scoring at that rate, and the transfer said as much about where the club stood that year as the table did: champions, and promoted to Division 1 for the first time in their history. Adam Gürsoy managed them there.

None of that came from a long institutional climb. IFK Stocksund was founded in 2005 as a youth set-up, with senior football added afterwards, and the club is not the same organisation as the yellow-and-black Stocksunds IF that has carried the town's name since 1935. The senior side only entered the pyramid in 2016, taking over Juventus IF's licence in Division 3, and went straight to winning Södra Svealand that same run, a second promotion in six years.

They play in blue and white at Stockhagens IP, a ground that holds 1,000. Supporters call the club Stockan, and the name carries most weight on derby weekends against FC Djursholm, the fixture known locally as the Danderyd derby, with Danderyd SK a second rival from the same municipality.

The Svenska Cupen has been less kind. Stocksund beat FC Gute 3-1 in the first round in 2022/23 before losing 0-2 to GIF Sundsvall in the second; two seasons later they went out 1-6 to Hammarby IF at the same stage, a reminder of the gap between a Division 2 promotion and the clubs above it. Pektas had already gone by then, on to Varbergs and the league Stocksund is still working towards, the same climb that started with a youth section in 2005.
