Hubert Heron won five England caps between 1873 and 1878 and led the side out as captain in 1876. Uxbridge had formed in February 1871 and entered the FA Cup two years later, reaching the second round before losing to the Royal Engineers, only to disband in 1874 over internal disagreements.
Uxbridge joined the Southern League as a founder member in 1894 and reached the FA Amateur Cup final four years later, losing 2–0 to Middlesbrough, then withdrew from the league in 1899 and folded again in 1900, clearing its debts before reforming in 1902. Honeycroft, bought for £5,800 in 1948, gave the club its first permanent home, in Cowley. In 1976 Uxbridge drew national attention for a different reason: a full-strength England side beat them 8–0 at Wembley.
Promotion, when it finally came, came all at once. The 2024–25 season ended with the Isthmian League South Central title and a play-off run that carried the club into the Southern League Premier Division South, Step 3 of the National League System, for the first time in its history.
