Valencia's under-20 side sits inside the club's academy, known as La Cantera. Its players train in Paterna, on the edge of the city, and play at the 3,000-seat Estadio Antonio Puchades in the Ciudad Deportiva complex, while the senior side stays at Mestalla.

The academy's record is easy to trace through the names it sent upward: Gaizka Mendieta, David Silva, Juan Mata, Isco, Jordi Alba, José Gayà. The youth side, Valencia Juvenil A, has also won plenty in its own right. It has taken the División de Honor Group VII title 11 times, most recently in 2025/26. The run began in 2006/07, the same season it beat Real Madrid 3-1 in the final of the Copa de Campeones Juvenil, the national youth championship. It lost that final to Real Madrid in 2009/10 and to Real Betis in 2024/25.

The COTIF Tournament is where the team's record stands out. Juvenil A won it six years running, from 1999 to 2004, which makes it the most successful side in the competition's history. It has also finished runners-up seven times, most recently in 2025, when it lost 2-0 to Argentina.

Levante, the senior side's opponents in the Derbi del Turia, are the local rival at youth level too, and Juvenil A meets Levante Juvenil in the same league.
