Wick Academy

Wick sits at the top of mainland Scotland, a fishing port on the Caithness coast, and Wick Academy is the club that gives it a place in senior football — the most northerly league side in the United Kingdom. Local sides had already played for a Wick League Championship before the club took the name in October 1893, and that early title, won in 1899, sat alongside a run of Caithness County League championships through the 1920s and 1930s.

The team plays in vertical black and white stripes at Harmsworth Park, known among supporters as "The Scorries" — Scots for seagull.

Jimmy Miller ties the club to its earlier decades more than any result does — a right winger before the First World War who then spent nearly fifty years as secretary and president.

The derby with Brora Rangers goes back to at least the 1930s.

Harmsworth Park holds 2,412 people.
