Wiener SC

The Sport-Club-Platz opened in 1904. Its standing areas carry the names of what lies beside them: the Friedhofstribüne, the "cemetery stand", holds 2,300 supporters, and the Kainzgasse Tribune another 1,350. Seating sits under cover on the Blue and Main Tribunes. That made 7,828 in all until the ground was rebuilt and revitalised, with work finishing in late 2025. Domestic matches now draw about 5,700 and internationals about 4,700.

The club is older than its football. It began on 24 February 1883 as the Wiener Cyclistenclub, the Vienna Cyclists' Club, and the football side arrived later. It merged with the Wiener Sportvereinigung in 1907. The Sportvereinigung had already won the Challenge Cup in 1904/05, and the club took it again in 1910/11. The Austrian Championship followed in 1921/22, and the Austrian Cup in 1922/23.

The best years came in the 1950s. Sport-Club won the title in 1957/58 and again in 1958/59, in black shirts with white shoulders. In the 1958 European Champions Cup they beat Juventus 7–0, with Josef Hamerl scoring four.

Decline came with money problems. The club went bankrupt twice in the 1990s, and in 2001 the football section broke away to become an independent body, Wiener Sportklub. It came back into the main multi-sport club in 2017. Sport-Club now plays in the Regionalliga Ost, the third tier.
