«Rovers»
Willand Rovers exist because the previous club in the village did not survive. Willand Wanderers, formed in 1907, went under financially in 1946, and Rovers took its place, at first on a field opposite the chip shop in Station Road that belonged to a local man, Henry Eveleigh. Silver Street, now known as the Stan Robinson Stadium, followed in 1953.
Craig Woodman arrived at the ground in 2024, with more than 500 English Football League appearances behind him at clubs including Bristol City and Exeter City.
The white kit gives the club its second name, the Devon All-Whites, though for a spell the shirts went orange before the club reverted to white. Fixtures against Tiverton Town carry the weight of a local derby.
All of it traces back to a village club that had to be rebuilt from a field by a chip shop after the one before it folded.
