One point separated Xorazm from the title in 2005: the club finished second in the Birinchi Liga that year, beaten to first place by Xiva.
The team was formed in Urgench, in the Khorazm region, in 1989, playing under the name Jayhun before the club took the region's own name. Twice it has climbed out of the second tier as champion, first in 1995 under the name Dinamo, then again in 2008.
Home games are played at the Stadion Xorazm, in front of a capacity of 13,500. In the Uzbekistan Cup the club's furthest run ended at the quarter-final stage, in 2009, and in more recent years a fourth-place finish in the Pro League, in 2022, has been about as close as Xorazm has come to another push upward.
What the club has never managed is a season in the Oliy Liga that lasted, or a title to put alongside those two second-tier championships.
