Orduspor 1967 were Ordu's professional team until financial trouble and licensing problems pushed them down into the amateur leagues. The Mor-Beyazlı, the Purple-Whites, filled that gap. Fatsa Belediyespor, from a neighbouring town, is the other opponent the club counts as a rival.
The club began in 1973 as Ordu İl Özel İdarespor. It was renamed Güzelorduspor in 2014, the same year it won promotion out of the amateur league (BAL). In 2017 it became Ordu Futbol Kulübü, and in July that year Yeni Orduspor.
In December 2019 the club dropped "Yeni" and became 52 Orduspor.
The second promotion came in 2026, when the 3. Lig play-off took the club into the 2. Lig. The team plays at the 19 Eylül Stadyumu, also called Yeni Ordu Stadyumu, which holds 16,768.
The debts that ended Orduspor 1967's time in the professional game stood at roughly 100 million lira.
