Zakynthos

The arrangement was reopened almost half a century later, when Zakynthiakos was folded in during 2016–17.

The early silverware did not come from the island at all. Between 1973 and 1985 the club took five championships in the Ilia association, on the mainland side of the water, and two cups there as well. Only afterwards did its name start appearing on the Zakynthos honours, with 21 wins , eleven of them in consecutive seasons from 1988 to 1998, then a fresh run in the past four years, the last of them in 2026.

National football has arrived in short bursts.

Home matches are played at the municipal ground in Zakynthos, registered as the Zakynthians Olympic Champions Ground, which holds 2,000. The shirts are blue and yellow, and that is where the supporters' name for the team comes from — the Blue-Yellows.
