Zimbru Chisinau Women

WFC Zimbru Chișinău won the Moldovan Women's League and the Moldovan Women's Cup, taking both trophies in the only season the club has so far played. The Cup final left little doubt: a 9–0 win over Atletico Bălți, five of the goals scored by captain Aurora Votîcova alone. In the league, the team's chief test came from Sheriff Women, and Zimbru beat them both home and away before meeting them again in the Cup final.

The club was formed in 2025 as the women's section of FC Zimbru Chișinău, and it took on the parent club's crest, its green-and-yellow colours and its nickname, Zimbrii, the Bison. What it did not inherit was a history of its own — the 2025–26 season was its first, and it finished it as double champion.

That result carried Zimbru into continental football sooner than a new club might expect, through the qualifying round of the 2026–27 UEFA Women's Champions League. The group did not go their way: defeats to Mitrovica and KÍ Klaksvík left them fourth.

Votîcova, the captain, remains the name attached to the club's brief history so far — five goals in a single final being the kind of afternoon a young team keeps returning to.
