6IXTY Men's Competition 2022/23

6IXTY is a professional Twenty20 (T10) cricket tournament operated within the West Indies. Administered by Cricket West Indies (CWI) and organised by Hits and Jams Entertainment, the body responsible for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the event functions as a high-intensity variant in the regional structure. It serves primarily as a lead-up fixture before the main CPL T20 season begins.

The competition launched in 2022, with the inaugural men’s edition taking place at Warner Park in St Kitts. Designed for speed, matches target a 60-minute duration, though they typically last around 90 minutes. The name references the six wickets per side—distinct from the standard ten—and the 60-minute aim. Additional rules include a “Mystery Free Hit” decided by fan voting. Strict time limits apply to overs; for instance, ten overs must be bowled within 45 minutes. There is no promotion or relegation, as it operates as a closed franchise system.

The tournament features the same franchise teams as the CPL. The original participants included the St Kitts and Nevis Patriots, Trinbago Knight Riders, Jamaica Tallawahs, and Barbados Royals. The St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the first title, defeating the Trinbago Knight Riders in the final. Jamaica Tallawahs are now known as Jamaica Kingsmen, while Barbados Royals were formerly the Barbados Tridents. The Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings also feature in the wider franchise set.

Sponsorship has been provided by SKYEXCH. The event is held in the West Indies, primarily in venues like St Kitts, and forms a key part of the regional cricket calendar. It fills the gap before the main CPL season begins in August or September. The competition is distinct from the CPL in its shorter format and unique rules, serving as a companion tournament rather than the primary domestic championship.
