The Abu Dhabi T10 operates as a professional ten-over cricket league founded in 2017 by T10 Sports Management. It stands as the world's only T10 league officially sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and licensed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). The tournament began in Sharjah, Pakistan, before relocating to Abu Dhabi in 2019. Ownership subsequently shifted to Abu Dhabi Cricket & Sports Hub (ADCSH).
The league sits outside the standard domestic pyramid, functioning as a franchise-based commercial entity with no promotion or relegation to UAE domestic structures. The format involves eight to ten teams competing in a round-robin group stage followed by semi-finals and a final. Matches are strictly limited to ten overs per side, featuring a three-over Powerplay that allows only two fielders outside the 30-yard circle. This structure distinguishes it from other T10 competitions, such as the PCB's Pakistan T10 Cup or the defunct Global T10, through its high production values and international star power.
Deccan Gladiators secured the title in the 2021-22 and 2024 seasons, while New York Strikers won in 2023. Northern Warriors claimed victories in 2018 and 2020, and Maratha Arabians won in 2019. Kerala Kings took the inaugural honour in 2017. The league operates independently of the Indian Premier League (IPL), though many players participate in both competitions. The official website is abudhabit10.com.
