About

The Abu Dhabi T10 (also known as the T10 League) is a professional cricket tournament founded in 2017. It operates as a separate, international franchise league, distinct from the traditional domestic cricket pyramid in the United Arab Emirates. The competition is officially sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and licensed by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).

The season format consists of a round-robin group stage where every team plays every other team, followed by a knockout playoff stage involving the top four teams. Each match is limited to 10 overs per side, with a total duration of approximately 90 minutes. The tournament is held annually, usually in November or December.

Deccan Gladiators are the most successful team in the competition's history, having won the title three times. Other notable winners include Northern Warriors, Maratha Arabians, and Kerala Kings. The current champions are Deccan Gladiators, who defeated Morrisville Samp Army by 8 wickets in the final. The league is managed by T10 Sports Management, which holds the license for the tournament. It differs from domestic T10 cups in countries like Pakistan, which are organized by national boards for player development, whereas the Abu Dhabi T10 is a global franchise league attracting international stars. A key differentiator is its relationship with the Indian Premier League (IPL); the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not allow its contracted players to participate in the Abu Dhabi T10, limiting the presence of current Indian IPL stars compared to other international leagues. The league has historically had title sponsors such as Ghalia Group and Eros Now, but recent editions have operated without a single overarching league title sponsor, though individual franchises have team sponsors.
