International League T20 (United Arab Emirates) 2024/25

The International League T20, officially the DP World ILT20, operates as the premier professional Twenty20 franchise cricket league in the United Arab Emirates. Established by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) in June 2022, the competition launched its inaugural season in January 2023. It functions as a closed franchise system, positioning it distinctly from the ECB’s domestic D-tournaments, which serve as developmental pathways without linking to the top tier via promotion or relegation.

Six franchises comprise the league: Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, and Sharjah Warriorz. Ownership involves corporate entities with ties to major Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises and global investors. The season follows a double round-robin group stage format, generating 34 matches in total. The top four teams progress to a playoff stage featuring Qualifier 1, an Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final.

Competitive parity characterises the early years of the tournament. As of the conclusion of the 2025–26 season, no single team has secured more than one title. Gulf Giants claimed the inaugural 2023 championship, followed by MI Emirates in 2024. Dubai Capitals and Desert Vipers subsequently lifted the trophy in 2025 and 2025–26 respectively. The league attracts high-profile international stars and serves as a neutral hosting venue for global cricket, relying on significant commercial sponsorship to sustain its operations.
