About

The Asia Pacific Cricket Champions Trophy is a regional Twenty20 International cricket tournament established in 2025. It operates outside the official pathways managed by the Asian Cricket Council, such as the Premier Cup or Challenger Cup. Instead, it functions as a preparatory event for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final. The competition is organized and hosted by the Singapore Cricket Association in Singapore.

The inaugural 2025 edition featured four national teams: Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, and Samoa. These are senior national representative sides of ICC Associate Members, not franchise clubs. The format consisted of a double round-robin league stage followed by a final. Malaysia won the title by defeating Hong Kong in the decisive match. There is no promotion or relegation system within the tournament, as it is an invitational cup-style competition rather than a multi-tier league.

The second edition took place in 2026, also in Singapore. This iteration included a different set of participants: Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Uzbekistan. The structure changed to a single round-robin league with a final and a third-place playoff. Singapore won this edition by defeating Thailand. The tournament involves national teams rather than club sides, distinguishing it from domestic leagues. It serves as a specific regional pathway for associate members seeking qualification for global events.

The competition remains distinct from other regional tournaments. It does not feed into a second-tier league, nor does it have a long historical footprint given its recent inception. The focus remains on providing competitive matches for associate nations in the Asia-Pacific region. Teams participate as national representatives, reflecting the international nature of the fixture.
