Austria in Cyprus 2026/27

The series "Austria in Cyprus" is a bilateral international cricket contest, not a domestic league or club championship. It brought together the Austria national cricket team and the Cyprus national cricket team for a specific tour in March 2026. The event served as the first-ever bilateral Twenty20 International (T20I) series between the two nations, marking a significant step in their sporting relationship.

The fixture was scheduled as a four-match series, officially titled the "Austria in Cyprus, 4 T20I Series, 2026." Matches took place at the Happy Valley Ground 2 in Episkopi, Cyprus. While the calendar list four games, one was abandoned due to weather conditions. Cyprus secured the series victory, winning two of the completed matches, including the decisive fourth encounter by 47 runs after winning the opener by 48 runs.

This international engagement sits within the broader context of both nations' cricket development. Austria's domestic structure is managed by the Austrian Cricket Association (ÖCV-ACA), established in 1981, with the ACA Open League serving as its premier tournament since 1991. Similarly, Cyprus organises its domestic play through the Cyprus Cricket Association (CCA), founded in 1999, which runs competitions like the Cyprus National Championship and the Autumn T20 League. Both countries hold Associate Member status with the International Cricket Council, having transitioned from Affiliate status in recent years, and they frequently meet in European regional qualifiers rather than through regular bilateral series. The 2026 tour remains a unique instance of direct national team competition between these two European sides.
