Germany versus Denmark in cricket is not a single, permanent domestic league or a unique bilateral trophy. Instead, the relationship is defined by participation in regional European tournaments and ad-hoc bilateral series. The primary competition where these two nations regularly meet is the European Cricket Championship (ECC), organised by the European Cricket Network (ECN). The original ECC, a 50-over format, was founded in 1996 by the European Cricket Council. The current iteration, a T10 tournament, was launched in 2021. It features a tiered structure with Premier and Challenger divisions, including promotion and relegation mechanisms. Greece holds the current title in this tournament.
Another key venue for their rivalry is the Nordic Cup. This is an informal, recurring T20I tri-series or quadrangular tournament involving Nordic and Baltic nations. Denmark, Germany, Finland, Sweden, and Norway are the usual participants. The first planned Nordic Cup involving Germany was the 2020 T20I Nordic Cup, hosted by Denmark, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. The first successful tournament involving both nations was the 2026 Women's T20I Nordic Cup, held in Germany.
There is no permanent trophy for the Germany-Denmark rivalry. Historically, their first official T20I match was played on June 19, 2019, during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Region Final in Guernsey. Germany won that match by 7 wickets. Germany holds a dominant head-to-head record in men's T20Is against Denmark, having won the last four recorded encounters. These matches are sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as T20 Internationals. Unlike domestic leagues such as the German Bundesliga or Danish Superliga, this 'competition' is a collection of international fixtures and regional qualifiers rather than a continuous club-based league system.
