The Hong Kong Tri Series (OD) functions as a developmental cricket tournament rather than a long-standing historic event. Organised by Cricket Hong Kong (CHK), the competition provides One Day International (ODI) matches for national teams and associate nations. The specific branding for these series emerged during the 2023/24 cycle, designed to offer competitive warm-up fixtures. The structure typically involves three participating sides engaging in a round-robin format where each team plays two matches. Following the group stage, the top two teams contest a final, while the third-place side may play a playoff against Hong Kong A.
