Ireland Under-19s v Zimbabwe Under-19s YODI series 2023/24

The Ireland Under-19s v Zimbabwe Under-19s Youth One Day Internationals (YODI) series represents a bilateral cricket fixture arranged by mutual agreement between Cricket Ireland and Zimbabwe Cricket. Unlike standalone tournaments with long histories, this competition functions primarily as a targeted warm-up series for players. The matches are official ICC-sanctioned encounters for Under-19 cricketers, distinct from senior One Day Internationals and not counting towards senior caps. The structure of the series varies, typically consisting of three to five matches. In the most recent iteration, the teams contested five games in Harare, Zimbabwe, in April 2025. This tour served as preparation for the 2026 ICC Under-19 Men's World Cup. Zimbabwe Under-19s secured victory in that series, winning four of the five matches. Historically, these two sides have encountered each other more frequently in ICC Under-19 World Cup competitions. Ireland Under-19s, a team founded in 1998, won both their World Cup encounters against Zimbabwe. They claimed a 9th-place play-off quarter-final in 2010 and a 13th-place play-off in 2008. Conversely, Zimbabwe Under-19s have participated in World Cups since the inaugural 1988 tournament. Their only other recorded bilateral success came during a tour to Ireland in December 2021 and January 2022, where they won the three-match series 3–0. There is no promotion or relegation attached to this fixture. The competition remains a focused exchange between two national youth sides rather than a league or cup tournament.
