Isle of Man Women in Malta 2024/25

Women's Valletta Cup is an annual international Twenty20 International (T20I) tournament organized by the Malta Cricket Association (MCA). Launched in 2019, it functions as a recurring event for associate members of the International Cricket Council in Europe. The competition is not a domestic club league but a regional cup competition, distinct from the men's domestic Malta Cricket League.

The tournament provides a platform for associate nations to compete against each other. Matches between national sides are relatively rare fixtures outside of this specific context. For instance, Malta does not maintain a separate, organized domestic women's club league. Women's cricket there is primarily represented by the Malta Women's National Team, established in 2022, which competes internationally. Domestic development occurs through national team selection and occasional festivals rather than a structured club league.

On the Isle of Man, the Cricket Association organizes two main domestic women's competitions. The Women's Soft Ball League is a competitive club-based league with eight teams playing ten-a-side soft ball cricket. The Women's Super Series is the premier hard ball competition, played as a short-format festival where players are pooled into balanced teams. These domestic structures contrast with the international nature of the Valletta Cup.

The 2024 edition was held in August at the Marsa Sports Club in Malta. It featured a round-robin group stage followed by finals. Teams participating included Malta Women, Isle of Man Women, Greece Women, Serbia Women, and the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) Women. During this period, Isle of Man Women won a concurrent bilateral T20I series against Malta Women 3–0. They also defeated Malta in the Valletta Cup group stage match, highlighting the tournament's role in fostering competitive opportunities for smaller cricketing nations.
