Maldives v Indonesia T20Is 2023/24

The Indonesia national cricket team is governed by the Indonesian Cricket Association (PCI), established in 2000. It gained Affiliate Member status in the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2001 and was promoted to Associate Member in 2017. The Maldives national cricket team is governed by the Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM), originally formed as the Cricket Control Board of Maldives in 1983. Cricket in the Maldives was introduced around 1880. The Maldives joined the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in 1996, became an ICC Affiliate Member in 1998, and was promoted to Associate Member in 2017. Both nations have played Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) against each other since 2019. Their first recorded T20I encounter was on October 19, 2024, in the Bhutan T20I Quadrangular Series 2024, where Maldives won by 23 runs using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. Another match was played on October 22, 2024, in the ACC Men's T20 Challenger Cup 2024, where Maldives won by 23 runs (DLS method). The ACC Men's T20 Challenger Cup was first held in 2023. Saudi Arabia won the 2024 edition. The Bhutan T20I Quadrangular Series 2024 was the first of its kind, hosted in Gelephu from October 19–25, 2024, with Thailand as the top-placed team after the final was abandoned. Indonesia joined the ACC in January 2024.
