About

The MAX60 Caribbean League is a professional T10 cricket tournament held in the Cayman Islands. It operates as a standalone franchise league, sitting outside any domestic promotion or relegation pyramid. The competition is owned by BMP Sports, a UAE-based entity, and organised in partnership with the Cayman Islands Cricket Association (CICA). Matches take place at the Jimmy Powell Oval in George Town.

The format is defined by its brevity: each side faces 10 overs, with a maximum of 60 balls per innings. A three-over powerplay applies, and strict rules prevent any bowler from delivering more than one over. The structure divides the season into a round-robin group stage followed by a four-match playoff series comprising a Qualifier 1, Eliminator, Qualifier 2, and the Final.

The inaugural season took place in August 2024, featuring six teams including the New York Strikers, Boca Raton Trailblazers, and Grand Cayman Stingrays. The Caribbean Tigers won the title, defeating the New York Strikers by 56 runs in the final. The league distinguishes itself through high-profile international signings, such as David Warner, Chris Lynn, and Dwayne Bravo. It markets its product as a fast-paced alternative to traditional cricket, aiming for matches to last around 90 minutes.

The 2025 season faced significant disruption. Reports indicate controversy surrounding unpaid wages and cancelled matches. Sources do not confirm a definitive winner for that year, noting the instability within the tournament structure. The competition relies on its branding as an elite, rapid-fire cricket event rather than a developmental pathway.
