Despite this classification, the International Cricket Council (ICC) granted the games List A status, permitting official statistical recording.

Ireland A, formally established as a second-tier entity in 2017, competed against the Netherlands A squad, which operates as an ad-hoc development side under the KNCB, founded in 1883.
