About

The Oman Quadrangular T20I Series is an intermittent international Twenty20 International cricket tournament organized by Oman Cricket. Hosted in the Sultanate of Oman, the event serves as a preparatory warm-up for major ICC competitions rather than functioning as a domestic league. The series brings together four national teams: the host nation and three invited international sides. Participants have included Associate members such as Nepal and the United Arab Emirates, alongside Full Member nations like Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands.

The tournament operates as a single round-robin league where each team plays three matches. There are no knockout finals; the leader on the points table is declared the champion. The format relies on Net Run Rate as the primary tie-breaker for standings. The first documented edition took place in February 2019 at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground in Muscat, featuring Oman, Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. Scotland won that edition with four points and a superior Net Run Rate compared to the Netherlands and Ireland.

The subsequent confirmed edition occurred in February 2022. This series featured Oman, Ireland, Nepal, and the United Arab Emirates. The United Arab Emirates won the title with four points and the highest Net Run Rate, finishing ahead of Ireland who had equal points but a lower Net Run Rate. Oman placed third with two points, while Nepal finished fourth with two points. This edition acted as a direct warm-up for the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier Group A, which began days later at the same venue.

Information regarding a scheduled 2023 edition is unverified. Major cricket databases do not record a completed tournament for that year, suggesting the event may have been cancelled or postponed. No editions are recorded for 2024 or 2025 in major records. The series remains distinct from Oman's domestic competitions, such as the Oman D20 League, which was inaugurated in 2021. This tournament is unique in its role as a multi-nation preparatory event rather than a bilateral contest or a domestic league.
