Quadrangular Twenty20 Series (Hong Kong) 2022/23

The Quadrangular Twenty20 Series is an invitational international cricket tournament hosted by Cricket Hong Kong, China. It brings together four national teams for a short-format competition that provides high-quality match practice for Associate member nations. The event is not part of a formal domestic league pyramid or a continuous international qualification league structure. Instead, it operates as a flexible development tool designed to prepare squads for larger continental and global events, such as the Asian Cricket Council Premier Cup or the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup qualifiers.

The structure follows a straightforward round-robin format where each participant plays every other side once. The top two finishers then contest a final, while the remaining teams play a third-place playoff. All matches held within the series carry official Twenty20 International (T20I) status, meaning the results contribute directly to the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings. This official designation ensures that the performances of players and teams are recorded in the global statistical record.

The inaugural edition took place in March 2023, officially designated as the 2022–23 Hong Kong Quadrangular Series. The participating nations in that first tournament were Hong Kong, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Hong Kong secured the title by defeating Malaysia by 39 runs in the decisive match. Individual accolades were awarded to Aizaz Khan, who was named Player of the Series, alongside Imran Anwar as the leading run-scorer and Ehsan Khan among the top wicket-takers. The series distinguishes itself from local franchise competitions like the Hong Kong T20 Blitz and regional age-restricted tournaments such as the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup by featuring senior national representative squads rather than club or under-23 sides.

The second edition was held in April 2025, shifting the participant list to include Nepal and Qatar alongside Hong Kong and Kuwait. Kuwait emerged victorious, beating Nepal by three runs in a tight final. Anshuman Rath claimed both the Player of the Series award and the leading run-scorer position for this iteration. The tournament remains distinct from strict qualification pathways, focusing instead on regular competitive exposure for the teams involved.
