The Quadrangular Twenty20 Series is a recurring international Twenty20 International (T20I) tournament organized by the Malaysian Cricket Association (MCA). Unlike a domestic league, this event features a multilateral series involving national teams from the Asia region. It serves as a preparatory platform for Associate members of the International Cricket Council (ICC). This function distinguishes it from official qualifiers such as the ACC Men's T20 Cup, which determines progression to the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The tournament operates as a standalone warm-up hosted by Malaysia to provide competitive experience for emerging cricketing nations. The format consists of a round-robin league stage where each team plays multiple matches, followed by knockout stages. Matches in the series are designated as Full T20Is, meaning they count towards ICC rankings. The specific iteration in April–May 2025 involved Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, and Thailand. This edition featured 12 league matches followed by a third-place playoff and a final. Saudi Arabia and Malaysia reached the final, with Saudi Arabia winning by 7 wickets, although some sources conflictingly report Malaysia as the winner; however, the match report confirms Saudi Arabia's victory in the final. Singapore and Thailand contested the third-place playoff, with Singapore winning.
The competition began in 2022. The inaugural edition in July 2022 featured Malaysia, Bhutan, Maldives, and Thailand, with Malaysia winning. A second edition in December 2022–23 included Malaysia, Bahrain, Qatar, and Singapore, won by Bahrain. A women's edition was held in 2023. The current structure focuses on providing a consistent stage for Associate nations to test themselves against regional peers outside the pressure of World Cup qualification. The series remains distinct in its role as a developmental circuit rather than a title-decider for the region.
