Serbia in Gibraltar 2024/25

The ECI Bulgaria T10 is an invitational T10 cricket tournament organized by the European Cricket Network (ECN). First held in 2023, the event takes place in Sofia and serves as a developmental platform for emerging European cricket nations. It is distinct from domestic football leagues in either participating country, such as the Serbian SuperLiga or the Gibraltar Football League.

The 2024 edition, played from August 9 to 11, featured three teams: Bulgaria, Serbia, and Gibraltar. The format was a round-robin league with no knockout finals; the team accumulating the most points won the title. Gibraltar secured the 2024 tournament with a perfect record of six wins from six matches, including victories in their encounters against Serbia.

Both national sides bring long histories to the competition. Gibraltar has organized its national team since 1960 and became an ICC Associate member in 1969. Serbia’s national team was founded in 2009 and attained Associate membership in 2017. Beyond the tournament, the two nations have engaged in bilateral T20I series in Gibraltar, in October 2023 and September 2024, which Gibraltar won 2-0 on both occasions.

The event highlights the growth of cricket outside traditional strongholds. It provides a structured environment for teams like Serbia and Gibraltar to compete against regional peers. The tournament does not feature a complex playoff system, relying instead on consistent performance throughout the group stages to determine the champion.

This structure allows nations with developing infrastructure to test themselves against established regional sides. The presence of multiple teams ensures a competitive atmosphere without the pressure of elimination in early rounds. Participants gain valuable match experience in a format designed to be fast-paced and accessible.
