Spain in Croatia 2024/25

Spain in Croatia is a bilateral international cricket series, not a domestic league or a recurring tournament with a permanent founding year. The specific fixture known as the "Spain in Croatia T20I Series 2024" took place in August 2024. Five Twenty20 International (T20I) matches were played at the Mladost Cricket Ground in Zagreb. Both Spain and Croatia are Associate Members of the International Cricket Council (ICC), which granted the matches full T20I status. The series was organized under the European Cricket Network (ECN).

This encounter served as the first edition of a bilateral series under this specific naming convention. Previous meetings between the two nations had occurred in multi-team tournaments such as the European Cricket Championship. Spain won the series 4-1. This result confirmed Spain’s victory in the five-match contest.

While this series brings the two national teams together, the domestic cricket structures in each country remain distinct and separate. In Croatia, the top-tier domestic competition is the HKS Liga, specifically the HKS T-10 Liga, organized by the Croatian Cricket Federation. The federation was founded in 2000 and registered in 2004. The 2023 season featured eight clubs, including Zagreb Assassins, who were champions. Sir Oliver Split also competed in that season. In Spain, the top-tier domestic competition is the Liga Nacional de Cricket, organized by Cricket España. That body was founded in 2001. The Spanish league operates as a finals tournament where regional qualifiers compete. The 2024 finals featured four teams, with Pak I Care Badalona CC as champions.

There is no promotion or relegation between these national systems. The "Spain in Croatia" series functions as an international fixture rather than a component of either domestic league.
