Tamil Nadu Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league based in Tamil Nadu, India. Founded in 2016, it operates as a franchise-based tournament governed by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association. The league is distinct from the official BCCI domestic structure, which features state teams. It is one of the few state-level leagues officially recognized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. This recognition allows the competition to feature international stars and serves as a talent pathway for the IPL and the national team.

The league consists of eight city-based franchise teams. The format involves a single round-robin league stage where each team plays every other team once, followed by playoffs. The top four teams from the league stage qualify for the playoffs, which include an Eliminator, two Qualifiers, and a Final. The number of teams has remained constant at eight since the inaugural season. Unlike football leagues, there is no promotion or relegation; teams are selected through a bidding process for franchise rights.

Chepauk Super Gillies is the most successful team in the league's history, having won four titles. Lyca Kovai Kings have won two titles, while Dindigul Dragons, Siechem Madurai Panthers, and iDream Tiruppur Tamizhans have each won one title. The current reigning champion is Kovai Kings, who won their third title in the 2026 season. The league has had two title sponsors: India Cements from 2016 to 2019 and Shriram Capital from 2020 to the present. The TNPL is distinguished from other Indian domestic competitions by its franchise model and its role in developing talent from remote districts of Tamil Nadu.
