Women's Premier League (India) 2022/23

The Women's Premier League is the top-tier professional Twenty20 cricket competition for women in India, organized by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It replaced the earlier Women's T20 Challenge when the tournament began play in March 2023, following its announcement the previous year. The league operates as a franchise-based structure, distinct from state-run domestic competitions such as the Senior Women's T20 Trophy. Five city-based teams participate in the season: Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, and UP Warriorz, who joined the competition in 2023. No promotion or relegation occurs, as players are selected through auctions. The schedule follows a double round-robin group stage, with each side playing eight matches. Playoffs determine the champion, where the highest-ranked team advances straight to the final, while the second and third-placed clubs contest an eliminator. The event runs for approximately three weeks, featuring around 22 matches. Tata Group sponsors the tournament, which carries the brand name Tata Women's Premier League. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have claimed the most titles, winning in 2024 and 2026. Mumbai Indians secured the inaugural 2023 crown and added another victory in 2025. Individual performances include Nat Sciver-Brunt as the leading run-scorer and Amelia Kerr as the top wicket-taker in the competition's history.
