About

The Women's T20 World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier sits at the second tier of the European qualification pathway for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC), the tournament was introduced in 2023 to accommodate the growing number of associate member nations in Europe. This structure splits the previous single European qualifier into two divisions, creating a distinct route for emerging teams.

The competition typically features six teams playing a single round-robin league format at a neutral venue. There are no knockout stages. The primary objective is promotion: the top two finishers advance to the Division 1 Qualifier. From there, the top two teams in that higher tournament earn direct spots in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup. Conversely, the bottom teams in Division 1 are relegated to Division 2.

In the 2025 edition, hosted in Rome, Italy, the national side won the title. They finished top of the table with five wins. Germany finished second. Both Italy and Germany were promoted to Division 1. The previous edition, held in Jersey, was won by France. France topped the points table on Net Run Rate ahead of Italy. Both France and Italy promoted to Division 1 following that tournament.

There was no separate Division 2 tournament in 2024. The 2024 naming convention referred to the World Cup cycle, but the qualifier was held in 2023. The next qualifier is scheduled for 2026. The competition provides a platform for nations such as Germany, Spain, Sweden, Isle of Man, and Jersey to gain promotion through performance. Established associate nations like Ireland, Netherlands, and Scotland compete in the upper tier for direct World Cup qualification. This tiered system ensures a clear progression path for developing cricket programs across the continent.
