The ICC Women's T20 World Cup East Asia Pacific Qualifier serves as the regional gateway for the International Cricket Council (ICC) Women's T20 World Cup, sitting at the base of the qualification pyramid for the East Asia-Pacific (EAP) region. The tournament was first held in 2019 in Port Vila, Vanuatu, evolving from the earlier 2016 World Cup Qualifying Series. It operates as a standalone regional qualifier, with the winner advancing directly to the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.
Papua New Guinea is the dominant force in the competition, having won both the 2019 and 2025 editions. The 2019 edition featured six teams in a single round-robin league with no knockout stages, while the 2025 edition, held in Fiji, expanded to eight teams. That edition was divided into two groups of four, followed by semi-finals, a final, and placement play-offs. Papua New Guinea Women secured the region's spot in the Global Qualifier by defeating Vanuatu Women in the final.
The current season involves eight nations: Cook Islands Women, Fiji Women, Indonesia Women, Japan Women, Papua New Guinea Women, Philippines Women, Samoa Women, and Vanuatu Women. The tournament maintains a distinct regional qualifier structure for women, feeding directly into the Global Qualifier, unlike the men's pathway which has recently involved a combined Asia-EAP Regional Final. The competition focuses on Pacific and East Asian nations, often featuring developing cricketing nations with limited resources compared to their Asian counterparts. Promotion and relegation within the EAP region are determined by performance in these qualifiers, with top teams advancing to Global Qualifiers or Regional Finals, while lower-ranked teams may drop to sub-regional events.
