The **Zimbabwe Under-19 OD Tri-Series** functions as a recurring format of international youth tournaments organized by Zimbabwe Cricket. Rather than a single historical institution with a fixed name, the event serves as a preparation pathway for the national Under-19 squad ahead of major ICC competitions, specifically the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026 which Zimbabwe co-hosts.
The most recent iteration took place in December 2025 and January 2026, featuring the hosts alongside the Afghanistan Under-19s and Pakistan Under-19s. The competition structure operated as a round-robin league where each participating side played four matches against the other two opponents. Following the group stage, the top two teams advanced to a final to determine the winner. In this edition, Pakistan Under-19s secured the title by defeating Zimbabwe Under-19s by 9 wickets in the concluding match. The final was contested at the Old Hararians Sports Club in Harare.
Individual performances included Sameer Minhas from Pakistan as the leading run-scorer with 360 runs, while Salam Khan Ahmadzai of Afghanistan claimed the top spot for wickets with 11 dismissals. These tournaments operate distinctly from domestic league systems, focusing entirely on international preparation rather than local competition. There is no promotion or relegation associated with these specific fixtures. The series sits within the international youth cricket calendar below the senior level, providing essential development opportunities for emerging players. Zimbabwe Cricket organizes the event, often collaborating with visiting boards to facilitate the schedule. These short-duration events contrast with long domestic seasons, offering concentrated high-level cricket for young athletes
