About

The Zimbabwe Women's Regional T20 Tournament operates as the premier domestic Twenty20 cricket competition for women in Zimbabwe. Organized by Zimbabwe Cricket, it serves as the primary platform for national team selection within the country's domestic pyramid. Unlike previous incarnations that relied on club-based entities such as the Flame Lilies and Petunias, this structure utilizes a regional model where teams represent specific geographic areas.

Four associations compete in the tournament: Northerns Women, Southerns Women, Tuskers Women (Matabeleland), and Metropolitan Women (Harare). The format dictates a single round-robin league stage where every side faces the others, followed by a knockout phase culminating in a final between the top two finishers. There is no formal promotion or relegation system due to the fixed nature of the regional boundaries.

In the inaugural 2022 edition, Southerns Women claimed the title by defeating Northerns Women. Following the cancellation of the tournament in 2023 and 2024 while domestic focus shifted to the Zimbabwe Women's T20 Cup, the competition resumed in the 2025/26 season. During that return campaign, Southerns Women secured victory against Northerns Women with a 2-1 aggregate score, decided by a match played on November 5, 2025. This regional representation aligns with Zimbabwe Cricket’s strategy to mirror international setups, moving away from commercial franchises to strengthen the regional domestic structure for women's cricket.
