Dorny Alexander Romero Chalas

Dorny Alexander Romero Chalas made his name away from home. A centre-forward from El Seibo, he started out with Delfines del Este before joining Cibao FC, where he won the Liga Dominicana de Fútbol in 2018 and the Torneo Apertura in 2019 and featured in that year's CONCACAF Champions League. A move to Mexico's Venados FC brought sixteen appearances without a goal, and after leaving the club he crossed to Bolivia's División Profesional with Real Santa Cruz, scoring 17 times in 51 matches over two seasons.

It was at Always Ready that Romero's career took off. In 2023 he scored 29 goals in 46 appearances, 25 of them in the league, adding two more in three matches the following year, and finished as top scorer of the División Profesional de Bolivia for 2023. That form took him to FC Aktobe in the Kazakhstan Premier League on a three-year contract; he scored seven goals in 31 appearances and helped the club win the Kazakhstan Cup in 2024 before leaving in January 2025. He joined Bolívar on a free transfer that same month, on a contract running to December 2026.

Internationally, Romero has been a regular for the Dominican Republic since his debut in February 2019, with goal tallies that vary depending on how non-FIFA fixtures are counted. His standout campaign came in the 2024–25 CONCACAF Nations League, where he finished as top scorer with ten goals, a run that helped the Dominican Republic win promotion to League A and qualify for the CONCACAF Gold Cup for the first time in the country's history.
