Erik Sviatchenko

Sviatchenko came through at FC Midtjylland, making his debut for the club in 2009 and staying on through several seasons before Celtic paid a reported £1.5 million to bring him to Glasgow in January 2016. In Scotland he won the Premiership twice, the Scottish Cup and the League Cup. He returned to Midtjylland on loan in January 2018, and the move was made permanent that May for £1 million. Back in Denmark he added three more Superliga titles and two Danish Cups to his collection, and was named Superliga Player of the Year for 2019–20.

He moved to MLS in March 2023, joining Houston Dynamo for a fee of around 10 million Danish krone. He lifted the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup with the club that year.

At international level, Sviatchenko made his Denmark debut against the United States in March 2015 and went on to earn five caps, scoring once, against France in October 2015. He came up through the Danish youth ranks, representing the U18, U19, U20 and U21 sides before his senior call-up.
