About the player
Vasilj came up through Zadar before spells at Hajduk Split and Dinamo Zagreb. He worked his way through Dinamo's youth ranks and into the reserve side, Dinamo Zagreb II, where he scored three goals in 13 appearances in the Druga HNL. His senior breakthrough came in the 2020–21 season, when a single league appearance for Dinamo coincided with the club winning the Prva HNL title.
What followed was a run of loans that took him around the Croatian league rather than settling him into Dinamo's first team. At NK Lokomotiva Zagreb he found regular football, making 33 league appearances and scoring three goals between 2021 and 2023. A further loan took him to NK Dubrava, and in 2024 he moved to HNK Šibenik on a free transfer, where he made eight league appearances and scored once.
He returned to Dinamo Zagreb in 2025, only to move on again almost immediately, joining NK Lokomotiva Zagreb once more, this time on a free transfer and on a contract running to 2029.
At international level, Vasilj represented Croatia at youth level, winning seven caps and scoring three goals for the under-17s between 2018 and 2019, before adding a single cap for the under-21s in 2021.
