About the player
Josué Ovalle arrived at Mazatlán FC on loan without a first-team appearance for Colo-Colo behind him, despite winning the Proyección (Sub-20) title there in 2019. His path to Mexico ran through Chile's lower divisions: a professional debut with Deportes Linares in 2020, a season with San Antonio Unido, and then a free transfer to Deportes Melipilla in January 2022 that proved decisive for his career.
At Melipilla, Ovalle became a key figure in the club's rise, helping it win the Segunda División Profesional in 2024 and earn promotion to the Primera B. That season also brought individual recognition: he was named Best Player of the Segunda División at the Gala Crack ceremony organised by TNT Sports and the ANFP, and was included in the division's Ideal Team.
A move to Deportes Limache followed in January 2025, before a loan to Deportes Concepción in July of that year, where he helped the club win the promotion playoff to the Primera División. His performances there set up the switch to Mazatlán FC in February 2026, where he has featured in 12 matches and scored five goals during the Clausura 2026 season.
Ovalle has not yet received a call-up to any Chilean national team, senior or youth.
