Matías Pellegrini

Matías Pellegrini made his way through Estudiantes de La Plata's youth ranks before joining the senior squad in 2018, and within a year he had already attracted interest from abroad. In July 2019, Inter Miami CF paid a reported fee in the region of $8.2 million for the forward. The move did not translate into an immediate switch of scenery: he was loaned straight back to Estudiantes, and the pattern repeated itself over the following seasons, with further loan spells taking him away from and back to La Plata. A loan to Fort Lauderdale CF in 2021 passed without him making an appearance, and he returned to Estudiantes months later.

His Inter Miami spell ended in 2022, when the club waived him and he signed for New York City FC as a free agent. He spent two seasons in New York, helping the club to the Campeones Cup in 2022 before returning to Argentina in January 2024, joining Vélez Sarsfield on a free transfer. With Vélez he won the Primera División, the Supercopa Internacional and the Supercopa Argentina, all in 2024.

At youth international level, Pellegrini trained and was called up with Argentina's U17 side in 2016 and the U20s between 2018 and 2019, though he has not featured for the senior national team.
