Matheus Alexandre Anastácio de Souza

Matheus Alexandre never played a first-team match for Corinthians, the club that signed him for a fee in 2019, spending his time there out on loan instead — first back at Ponte Preta, then at Inter de Limeira, and finally at Coritiba, where 38 appearances across the 2021–2022 loan spell gave him regular football.

Signed on a three-year contract in December 2022, with Corinthians and Ponte Preta still holding part of his economic rights, the right-back went on to make 102 appearances and score three goals, and won the Campeonato Mato-Grossense in both 2023 and 2024 — both times unbeaten. A move to Sport Recife in 2025 brought a further 34 appearances.

He has now joined Remo on a free loan from Sport, an arrangement that also hands Remo 60% of his economic rights for any future sale. Built into the deal is a buy option that rises with time: US$1,000,000 if exercised by 30 July 2026, climbing to US$1,200,000 if Remo waits until the window between 1 August and 30 December of that year.

Primarily a right-back, he is also used as a defensive midfielder when needed.
