Rafael Delgado

Rafael Delgado's career has been shaped by loans and free transfers rather than a single defining move, but the standout entry on his record is the 2020 Copa Sudamericana. As a Defensa y Justicia player, the left-back started the final against Lanús, a 3–0 win, and was named to the tournament's Team of the Tournament.

He started out at Rosario Central, where between 2010 and 2014 he helped the club win the Primera B Nacional title in the 2012–13 season and earn promotion to the Argentine top flight. A short stint at Estudiantes de La Plata followed in the first half of 2015, limited to four league appearances, before he moved on a free transfer to Defensa y Justicia, the club where he would become a regular.

From there his path ran through a loan to Colombia's Atlético Nacional in 2018, a return to Defensa y Justicia, and a switch to Colón in 2020, where he settled in as a mainstay and passed a century of appearances across competitions. A brief loan back to Defensa y Justicia in 2021 slotted him back into that Copa Sudamericana campaign. Spells at Belgrano and a second stint at Defensa y Justicia followed before his free transfer to Deportes La Serena.

He has not been capped by Argentina at senior level, despite occasional mentions in speculation around future national squads.
