About the player
Santiago Ferreira e Serra was born in Lisbon and grew up caught between the city's two big academies, splitting his early formation between Benfica and Belenenses around the 2019/20 season before settling with the latter. He left Belenenses for CD Mafra in 2024 as a free agent, a move that took him from academy football into senior competition: at Mafra he played for the U19 side in the Campeonato Nacional U19 while also breaking into the first team in Liga 3 during the 2025/2026 campaign.
That progress earned him a transfer to Estrela da Amadora in August 2026, again for an undisclosed fee, and a step up to Liga Portugal. Serra made his debut for the club in the 2026/2027 season, starting against Sporting CP. He operates as a defensive midfielder, a role suited to his physical presence at 185 cm.
