About the player
Vilde Bøe Risa grew up through the youth ranks at Arna-Bjørnar, staying with the Bergen club until 2018 before her career took her across three countries. Her move to Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC in Sweden brought the clearest silverware of her career: the Damallsvenskan title in 2020 and the Svenska Cupen the year before. She transferred to Manchester United in the Women's Super League, where she remained for two years.
September 2023 took her to Spain, joining Atlético Madrid on a free transfer. It was in Liga F that she produced her most recognised individual form, earning a place in the Primera División Team of the Year for the 2024–25 season. She left the club as a free agent in the summer of 2026, at which point she signed for North Carolina Courage in the NWSL, taking squad number 26.
Risa's career has run in parallel with a steady presence in the Norway national team, for whom she has made 95 appearances and scored four goals. A right-footed midfielder, she moved from Scandinavia to England and then Spain without her involvement for Norway ever lapsing.
