Al Taraji Women

Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Qatif holds 12,000, but Al-Taraji have used it since moving up from the smaller Esperance Sports Club ground, where the team played its early lower-division fixtures. The venue matches the ambition of a project that only reached its present form in September 2022, when the established Al-Taraji Club took over a team called Oasis, formed three years earlier as the first women's football side in the Qatif region.

That handover shaped more than the name. Al-Taraji's women wear blue, red and yellow, colours carried over from a 1980 merger of two local clubs, Al-Badr and Al-Shate, and the squad is known as Al-Bahara, the Sailors, a nod to the city's place on the Gulf coast.

Al-Taraji won all eight group matches, scored 99 goals, and reached the First Division final, where they lost to AlUla on penalties after a 1–1 draw. The defeat still carried promotion to the Premier League. Heavy losses to Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli and Al-Shabab piled up, and Al-Taraji finished tenth and dropped straight back down.

Working alongside team manager Shereen Qaheri, also Bahraini, the club has no fixed rivalry attached to its women's section, though matches against fellow Eastern Province sides Al-Qadsiah and Eastern Flames carry their own weight. For now, the club's next campaign returns it to the First Division, back in front of Qatif's stadium.
