In 1987 the country joined the International Cricket Council as an Affiliate Member. In 2017, the ICC's restructuring of its membership tiers moved the Bahamas up to Associate status.
The side trains and plays at Haynes Oval in Nassau, laid out in 1940. Results have stayed modest and regional: the Bahamas finished runners-up in the ICC Americas Championship Division Two in both 2006 and 2008, then took third place in the 2024 ICC Americas Championship, its most recent finish. It also played in the Stanford 20/20 tournaments of 2006 and 2008.
Marc Taylor, the current captain, was drafted into the Max 60 tournament in 2024. Gregory Taylor served as captain before him.
