Basake Holy Stars

In the 2023/24 Division One League Zone Two campaign their protest against Sefwi All Stars, whose supporters had run onto the field during a decisive match, was upheld by the Ghana Football Association's Disciplinary Committee, and the result stood in the club's favour. That ruling settled the zone title and sent a club from Nzema Aiyinase into the Ghana Premier League for the first time.

The jump had taken three seasons. Holy Stars won their Regional Division Two League to enter the Access Bank Division One League's Zone Two in 2021/22, and by 2024 they were champions of it, promoted straight to the top flight for the 2024/25 season. The same year they beat Medeama SC 5–4 on penalties, after a 1–1 draw, to take the Apinto Memorial Cup.

Medeama supply the club's fiercest fixture, the Western Derby — Bibiani Gold Stars and FC Samartex 1996 complete the region's list of local quarrels. Holy Stars play at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium, known locally as AAK-III Park, which holds 5,000; a dispute with the traditional council over its use has raised the possibility of the club relocating to Tarkwa or Samartex, though for now Aiyinase remains home.

Abdul Bashiru is the name attached to the club's defining moment: he scored the goal that turned the promotion push.
