BM Sinfín

The closest BM Sinfín has come to a major trophy is a runners-up medal: in 2020-21 the Santander club reached the final of the Copa ASOBAL and lost 23-33 to Barcelona. Reaching that final at all meant climbing from the third tier in barely a decade and a half, through the Primera División Nacional in 2006-07 and 2007-08.

Sinfín went up for the first time in 2014-15 through the promotion play-offs after finishing second in División de Honor Plata, dropped back down, then returned in 2017-18 by winning the play-offs again, this time from fifth place in the second tier. Their best run in the Copa del Rey stopped at the quarter-finals, in 2022-23.

Servando Revuelta Gil founded the club on 14 April 2004 and stayed on as its president, building a side that came to be seen as the successor to Club Balonmano Cantabria after that team disappeared in 2008. The black kit gave the players their nickname, Men in Black, and it is the colour most associated with the Pabellón de La Albericia on matchdays. Bathco BM Torrelavega provide the opposition for the Derbi Cántabro.

Rubén Garabaya now has the coaching job, with goalkeeper Diego Muñiz among the players supporters point to first.
